Tuesday August 4 2020 Log

As of Tuesday August 4 2020, the great storms and high speed wind subsided. This is because a typhoon passed by, near this Pacific location. Heat and Humidity are still excessive.

Plans are progressing for a new telescope if the logistics are compatible with this location. I have an interest in a completely automatic telescope that does not need a human to do setup, polar alignment or any star alignment. Such a telescope can set outdoors functioning in heat and humidity and I can avoid mosquitoes and heat stroke by running software inside the air conditioned observatory room. This is the wave of the future.

Studies continue to develop new ways for telescope imaging through extreme light pollution. While most people use filters, there are now techniques of image processing that can do the trick. New specific CMOS cameras and chips have extremely low noise and can shoot through light pollution at reduced noise. One camera in this realm is the Zwo ASI224MC which I'm using for experimentation.
