Astro Order & SkySync

Astro Order in Limbo
Murphy has camped out at my home. (Murphy's Law states that if anything can go wrong, it will.) Dozens of parts on order worth over $1,000 never went through. The USA astro order was stuck. The click to order preparation from the email reply did not work and did not include the shipping or routing information. I replied to the vendor but after a week there was no reply. I cannot wait any longer and sent a final email, and added four more parts to the order list. The problem is most of
the items are not in stock, though I have assurances they will be obtained and mailed in 2-3 weeks. Already a week has passed with apparently nothing happening. Let's hope this latest email does the trick.

Update: Alas, I heard back from the vendor with the revised order and unfortunately it does not reflect the multiple items I ordered. Maybe the order will never be without errors? I might try making another order with the missing multiple items but fear this could mess up the first order. I'm ready to throw in the towel and write a dissertation about Murphy's Law.

Another update on Monday June 22 2020
The order list was sent back to me for approval, however the multiple items changed to one again, the form would not allow payment nor calculate postage. The vendor stated almost no items are in stock (out of dozens and dozens) and it would now take at least another month of waiting. This is after a week has already passed. Plus the most important filter will not add to the order form. Another telescope company stated many people are confined to home due to the Corona Virus and doing their astronomy hobby at night, making numerous purchases for telescopes and accessories and completely wiping out company stock. I verified this by spot checking several items and everything was sold out from 12 companies.

Awaiting SkySync Tests
Today is currently 105 deg. F. on the toasty side at 10am. Noon and 1pm will see much hotter temps. I won't go out due to excessive heat and to avoid heat stroke. The telescope mount tests with SkySync GPS will need to wait for the temperatures to subside. It's unfortunate the mount does not work and tracking is not working. This early morning, the red planet Mars was perfect for imaging, and seeing conditions are in the perfect season. Earlier, Jupiter and Saturn were in the prime positions for imaging. SkySync, if working on Asian GPS satellites, should add in the date, time and exact coordinate location of the telescope automatically.

Update: at 1:40 pm in the afternoon it reached 114 deg. F. Hopefully this evening will start to lessen in temperature. The seeing conditions have become so clear, I can see individual trees on several volcanic Mountains located many miles away.

Update Mon. Jun. 22: SkySync is a lost cause, a complete failure. It loads in bad data into the telescope mount, the wrong date, the wrong time, and the wrong time zone. It's unclear about the latitude and longitude. I'll take a look and see if the firmware has an upgrade. If not, the unit will stay in the trash. I learned the mount will save the info after manually entered, so entering it one time probably during the daytime should be reasonable.
